Amy has produced such exciting and entertaining programs including a Cinco de Maya celebration, an "Elvis" concert, a Luau, a St. Patrick's celebration just to name a few!  Can't wait to see what she has up her sleeve for this fall!  Going forward, be sure to enjoy all this amazing person is organizing!

We've Changed Our Name!

We have officially changed our name to:

Plummer Place,

Home of the Northbridge Senior Center

This has been a long time in the making and we feel we have made the right choice. As many of you know, our Senior Center is located in the former Plummer School which served town from 1921-1982. Shortly after the school closed, with funding from the town, grants, and assistance from FINE, students from Blackstone Valley Tech renovated the building and in 1985 it became the new Senior Center. For more background about the name change decision, please read our newsletter here

Who are the Friends?

The Friends of the Northbridge Elders, Inc. (FINE) is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation providing additional financial support for Plummers Place, home of the Northbridge Senior Center.

Formed in 1978, F.I.N.E supplements the Northbridge Council on Aging (COA) budget to purchase and donate necessary programs, equipment and furnishings for the ongoing activities at the Northbridge Senior Center.

F.I.N.E is governed by an all-volunteer, up to a fifteen-member voting Board of Directors, all of whom are elected every two years.  Many others also volunteer their time in supporting F.I.N.E. activities.

F.I.N.E meetings are open to all members.  Decisions are made on fund raising and the disbursements of funds based on requests from the C.O.A. and/or suggestions from members and others.

Membership

All ages over 18 are welcome.  All member dues are used to help supplement the cost of programs, activities and equipment for the Northbridge Senior Center.

Dues for individuals are $10.00 per year, $20.00 for 2 years or $27.00 for three years.

Please note that effective January 1, 2023, we raised the membership dues to $10.00 per year, $20.00 for two years and $27.00 for three years. Again, your dues help make it possible for us to provide support to the senior center. Please access the financial support page to see how we have supported Plummer Place to date.

The Purpose of F.I.N.E.

The long-term goal of F.I.N.E. is to assist the Northbridge Council on Aging (COA) in providing the community with a welcoming and functional gathering place, accessible to all, in a multi-purpose facility that will serve the mental, physical and social needs of Northbridge's older residents.

Since 1994, FINE has supported the Town of Northbridge Senior Center to the tune of over $245,000 for senior programs, center updates and volunteer funding.
Stay tuned to the Northbridge Senior Center bi-monthly newsletter and this FINE website for FINE fundraising activities.

Compassion is Our Passion

What life means to us is determined, not so much by what life brings to us as by the attitude we bring to life; not so much by what happens to us as by our reaction to what happens.  Lewis E. Dunnington
